Without God (Bez bog) and Dobrinishte
Without God, Pirin is a little popular, non-commercial destination offering great adventures for tough snowboarders and skiers. It is heaven for the underground culture and hell for the fastidious.
Pros:
- Cheap prices - definitely the cheapest place for winter sports in Bulgaria. A night in the hut is about 5 euros, while the lift pass is less than 10 euros.
- A lot of pure snow and powder, wide slopes with little flora - conditions perfect for freeride snowboarding;
- A place different from the mainstream where you meet only fresh people;
- Long run, divided in two parts. The upper one keeps the snow even in hotter weather.
Cons:
- Crowded on weekends and in good weather;
- Old and uncomfortable lift;
- Hardly accessible - the road is awful and you will be rather riding offroad. The lift stops working at 4 p.m. and there is no way to get in / out of the hut. Practically inescapable in an emergency.
- The hut offers bad conditions, close to misery. It also get cold through the night.
