Borovets - Rila mountain

Borovets is the oldest Bulgarian winder resort, known as Chamkoria in the past.

Pros:
- Its various slopes makes it suitable for all levels and likings. It is good both for snowboarders and skiers.
- Its high ski runs such as the Markudjik allows snowboarding and skiing till late Spring.
- It is only one hour away from Sofia and Plovdiv by car.
- Moderate prices - lower than those in Bansko, higher than the rest.

Cons:
- It gets pretty crowded often and you have to wait in line. This is especially true for the gondola.
- Outdated architecture, mostly remained from the communist's era.
- Driving a car to there is dangerous because of the icy road, traffic jams. Parking is also a challenge.
