Our slopes are perfectly suitable for freeride snowboarding because the biggest part is not maintained and remain pure for longer. Bulgaria is the place to go if you are looking to diversify your snowboarding experience. Mountains vary from close to the city and easily accessible like Vitosha to more "commercial like" resorts as Bansko.

Have you wondered what is it like to be resqued from an avalacne? Our photographer Petar Cholakov has been resqued in a simulated mountain resque operation and documented the extreme adventure in our gallery. 
There you will see how well organized and experienced the Bulgarian mountain resque teams are. Of course, the chance of survival is very small because very often the victims die during the fall of the avalanche or shortlty after that. Also, you should know that such an operation is very expensive (thousands of euros) and it is advisable to have a an insurance if you plan to go extreme in the mountain. |
